What is the easiest way to learn Japanese?

I’m not able to be near a computer all the time, and I don’t own any japanese music. Usually I go to the library and try to study using books and memoring words.
If you have learned Japanese or another language fluently, what techniques did you use to learn it?

what is the difference between

watashi wa asa koohii o nomimasu
and
watashi wa koohii o nonde imasu ?

(besides the fact that there is asa in one (unless that’s important))?
why do they sometimes combine the verb with the ending word?
